We the old boys of Government SecondarySchoolOwerri 96 class set under our parent body Government Secondary School Owerri Old
Boys’ Association having agreed to unite under the umbrella of OGSS OBA’ CLASS OF 96 do firmly and solemnly resolve to live and associate in unity and harmony under God, and with common objectives to
the interest of love, peace, progress, welfare and development of OGSS OBA’ 96 class.
As a Class Set, we derive our authenticity from the parent body and are subject to all rules and regulations guiding the parent Association. We are unique. A rare kind. Though we are growing daily but we keep getting younger in the hearts like the young boys we were in 1996. We still play a lot. We still care for all. What makes us the best class set comes purely from the unbreakable bond we share daily. From the mother branch (Owerri Branch) to Port Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja, North America, UK and other emerging Branches we remain ever resolute in upholding The Supremacy. We are Brothers united in love and togetherness.
This amazing class set is made up of men who were admitted as boys into the prestigious Government Secondary School Owerri in 1996. The class parades some of the best brains in all walks of human endeavor. The strict academic discipline and high moral standard the school has always been known with have helped to shape members as very responsible and value driven members of the society. With no trace of arrogance, we are so proud of who we are. This is because anyone who never attended Government Secondary School Owerri has something less than we have.
Our daily sharing of useful information, tantrums, jokes, intellectual arguments, motivations etc justify why we are called 'Old Boys'. This is because we can never grow old. What holds us together is not just a bond, but Brotherhood.
Remember where you come from
Wherever you may chance to go
Uphold your Supremacy
To do or to die for the right
Our alma mater and our country
We shall always hold them dear
For the Lord will surely bless thee
Good GSSO!.
I pledge to myself to remember
That at all times and all places
I will read, behave like a student of Government Secondary School Owerri
So help me God
When wealth is lost, nothing is lost
When health is lost, something is lost
When Character is lost, all is lost.
